Strangers

[ PART II ]

“Hyung, where have you been for the past two days?” Seung Ri asked Ji Yong as they all the guys were in the van on their way to the coast to get on a boat to go to Jukdo.

“I’ve just been dwelling on the past,” he whispered quietly, more to himself than anyone else. All the guys listened quietly. Although Seung Ri was the only one looking at him, the other members were listening intently to their friend’s response. “It’s a wonder how I’ve been these past three years. Have I been a pain in the ass?”

Seung Ri looked at him sympathetically, “Not anymore than you’ve always been.” Ji Yong smiled, of course he knows that he’s been harder to deal with, he’s been more easily angered, annoyed, not the Ji Yong he’d once been.

“Ji Yong-ah,” Seung Hyun suddenly turned back from the front seat to look at him. “Don’t be too hard on yourself, you look like you haven’t slept in weeks. If she was here right now, she would probably give you a slap and make you take some of her health foods. “

Ji Yong laughed at the thought of Bom doing exactly what Seung Hyun just said. She would always make sure to give him a beating when he did things that she didn’t approve of. Now she wasn’t here to tell him to get more sleep, work on his Japanese, don’t skip breakfast and practice harder.

Surprisingly the guys had been very supportive, they’d been with him for three years and dealing with all of these, and not complain a single moment. Every time he would want to be alone, they’d leave him knowing he wants to think about Bom. They never once told him to stop thinking about her. Even if they were afraid and hesitant to bring her up, they never once told her to forget about her. They never once told him to stop loving her. Maybe it was because they knew he wouldn’t, no matter what they told him.

“President-nim, just texted me, and apparently we will be staying there for the whole two days,” Dae Sung suddenly announced as he looked up from his phone.

“Two days? What does he want to do over there?” Young Bae gave a questioning look at the rest of the members.

“I know, I don’t understand how he suddenly wants to do YGTV at a tiny island, where there’s not much to do,” Seung Ri added in.

“I know something doesn’t sound right,” the leader said suspiciously. “I think President, probably has something hard for us to do over there.”

“Yeah, watch it be some hard-core training like back in the days instead of the ‘vacation-time’ he claimed it will be,” Seung Hyun responded.

“Aigoo…” the guys chimed in together.

It was the middle of Spring, where the flowers just started to blossom, the weather was perfect, the sun was warm, and the sky so blue. It was the perfect time to relax, the perfect time to get away, but they’ve never filmed to an island before. But somehow everything just didn’t seem right.

It was a daily routine. Get up at 5:55 in the morning, do the chores that needed to be done in the house, then after that she would leave to go help out the elders in the village to help in whatever way she can.

“Bom-ah!” an old short woman with dark skin and short white hair greeted her as she came in through the gates of their village house.

“Halmeoni!” Bom exclaimed as she bowed down to them as she smiled widely happy to see them.

“Oh my child, where have you been?” the old woman asked as she gestured Bom to get up and gave her an affectionate hug as if she were her real granddaughter.

“I haven’t been feeling well lately, I decided to stay home for the past couple of days,” Bom smiled as she saw the older woman frown in worry. “I’m fine now though. Did you miss me, Halmeoni?”

“Aigoo, of course!” she was Bom’s favorite grandma, she was always so bright and happy that whenever Bom came to visit her, her own spirits would be lifted up no matter how down she would be at the moment. She always loved coming to help her out every day. “Where’s Yea Ji?”

Bom turned around behind her and looked around in the area, but there was no sign of her. “Aish, she probably wondered off somewhere, even though I told her not to. Aigoo, that child!”

The old woman laughed, “She’s fine. That little girl is smart for her age.” She smiled as she went to obtain three big buckets from the kitchen and gave them to Bom. “You better hurry and go dear, there are a lot of people today since it’s Saturday, and I’m going to need them especially tonight.”

Bom looked at her questioningly, but didn’t ask her for she was worried where Yea Ji was, and listened to the older woman’s words as she told her to hurry. “Alright, Yea Ji and I will have these three buckets filled for you!”

“Yea Ji!” Bom shouted as she saw a little girl picking flowers on the grass field nearby. “What did I tell you about always being to where I can see you?”

The little girl ran to Bom as she placed a flower behind her ears, “Don’t I look pwetty pwincess?”

Bom smiled at the little child as she felt her heart pain at the sight of a daisy.

“Of course, Yea Ji is the most beautiful princess in the world,” Bom smiled as she closed her eyes and gave Yea Ji a tight embrace while picking her off the ground.

“Alright boys, we’re almost there!” their manager shouted in excitement in finally getting close to their destination. “Now we just need to get on this boat, then voila!”

They all went on the boat and taking everything with them, except the car which they left on the main land.

“Is there some other way I can get to the other side without getting on the boat?” Seung Ri looked at his manager hesitantly as he still stood on the ground floor without taking a step inside the boat.

“Why?” All the other guys except Ji Yong asked in curiosity.

“I get…” Seung Ri turned red of embarrassment. “…seasick.” Ji Yong couldn’t hold himself any longer and busted out in laughter.

All the guys joined in with him. It was a hearty laughter, one that hasn’t been present in awhile. A kind that warms all their hearts, and give them a feeling of closeness. Now that they think about it, they haven’t been together, just all five them in awhile.

Everyone was busy doing their own solo activities, and it’s definitely been awhile since they’ve all been able to spend time with Ji Yong, and vice versa. But most of all, it’s been way too long since they have heard their friend laugh like this. Maybe it was the air that was coming from Jukdo, some magical force that was making him act like his old self again, but whatever it was they were thankful for it.

“Come on, Seung Ri, it’s only for a second it won’t be that bad,” Seung Hyun was the first to finally calm down as he told his dongsaeng.

“Oh no, it is!” the maknae’s forehead was starting to mist of sweat in nervousness.

“Aigoo, let’s go Seung Ri-yah!” Ji Yong took him by the arms and pulled him in as Seung Ri tried to oppose his weight.

“But Hyung!”

“Would you rather swim to get to the island?” Ji Yong questioned him with a big smirk on his face.

Seung Ri just looked at the dark water beneath him, and then at his Ji Yong.

“That’s what I thought,” Ji Yong smiled laughingly at the situation.

“You’ll be fine,” Young Bae gave him a pat on the back.

“Yeah, we promise we won’t push you off,” Dae Sung smiled at Seung Ri with wit in his eyes.

“Yah! You better not!” Seung Ri exclaimed.

“Yah! Don’t talk to your Hyung like that!” Ji Yong slapped him on the arm as he pulled him onto the boat.

“Ow!” Seung Ri winced a little. “Aish! Hyung! Where did you learn to slap so much?”

Ji Yong smiled gently as he looked towards the island they were headed to. The boat was starting to finally move.

Maybe a little get away from the real world won’t be such a bad idea.

“Yea Ji, you have to promise me that you won’t wonder off when I’m not looking okay?” Bom looked at the little girl beside her who was clutching her hand and looking back at her with big brown eyes.

“Mhhm,” the little girl responded.

“Promise me that you’ll stay where I tell you to stay so that I can see you, okay?”

“Mhhm.”

“Promise me that you won’t talk to any strangers, okay?” this time Bom looked at Yea Ji with a harder look hoping that the young girl would understand her demand.

“Mhhm.”

“No, say you promise,” Bom quickly responded.

“I pwomise,” Yea Ji smiled up at Bom with her small teeth showing.

“That’s a good girl, and later I’ll buy you a pretty princess doll later,” Bom smiled at Yea Ji’s obedience.

“Yay!” the girl jumped up in excitement.

“Okay, now we got to hurry and walk faster,” Bom picked up Yea Ji in her arms as she picked up her pace hoping that she wasn’t late for the job.

“Are we-“ Seung Ri stopped in his sentence as he felt a tingly feeling in his stomach come up to his throat. He threw up, and all the guys made a disgusted noise in response. “-almost there?”

“Yeah, just a couple of more minutes,” Young Bae replied.

They’ve only been on the boat for less than ten minutes since the distance from the main coast to the island of Jukdo was not very far, but the seasick Seung Ri could not wait until they made it to their destination.

“Alright, so once we get there, there won’t be any hotels or a big comfy house unlike what you guys are used to,” the manager spoke out as they were finally there in Jukdo. “Instead we will be staying in at a reliable and respectful people’s house.”

“No hotels?” Dae Sung groaned. “I thought that this was going to be a good break.”

“No complaining,” their manager replied. “Once we’re there I want you guys to be very respectful and be thankful that they are letting you stay.”

The guys nodded in obedience.

______________________________

“Okay, Yea Ji, remember what I told you,” Bom looked at the little girl intently in the eyes. “I’ll just work over there for a while, you stay here and don’t do anything I told you not to, okay?”

Once again Yea Ji nodded her head.

“That’s a good girl,” Bom smiled and took out her iPod from her pocket, “here you can listen to this.”

“Yay!” Yea Ji’s eyes twinkled as she more than gladly took Bom’s iPod.

“Okay, now I’ll be working, sit here and read your books or listen to songs, I’ll be back soon,” Bom hugged Yea Ji and gave her a kiss on the forehead.

When Bom left her, Yea Ji sat on the bench next to the front of the market and a good distance to where Bom could still see her from the shore of the sea.

Jukdo is a small island on the East of South Korea mainland. It is closest to the island of Ulleungdo. Ulleungdo is the main island where more people lived and it was a place of tourism and people of Jukdo go to buy things. Jukdo is a much smaller island with inhabitants of about 2,000 people.

It was a small place a small island, and everyone there new everybody, it was a small community living together in an island. Although everyone knew everyone who lived there, Jukdo is a great place of tourism for people visiting Korea as well.

Every day, and especially in the Spring time, Jukdo would get a lot of tourists coming in and out in a boat from Ulleungdo. That was why Bom has always emphasized Yea Ji not to talk to strangers and telling her to be careful. If it weren’t for that, she would let Yea Ji be by herself 24/7 but that was not the case, she still had to be careful.

______________________________

“Finally!” Seung Ri shouted as the members and staff made their way to get off the boat.

“See? You didn’t die did you?” Seung Hyun patted the maknae on the shoulder.

“He didn’t, but all the throw-ups were disgusting,” Dae Sung made a disturbed look remembering the many times Seung Ri threw up in the short time of the ride.

“Thanks guys for the concern,” the maknae responded sarcastically.

Ji Yong found himself laughing again, something about today, maybe this place, or maybe because it is… Spring, but he found himself feeling better than he’d been in the past few days, weeks, months, years. He looked at the island, it could already be seen that it was small. There were workers working on the shore, there was a market nearby and houses built a few distance away.

Why had he never visited this place before?

It was a perfect place to just get away from the world. Even as they got there, people stared and look, but they didn’t seem to know who the famous Big Bang were, or if they did they must have not known how they looked because none came flocking towards them unlike the typical day in Seoul.

“What’s with the smile on your face?” Young Bae placed an arm on Ji Yong’s shoulder as he smiled at his friend who seemed to be in a peaceful moment.

“I don’t even know, I feel like this is a real vacation for once,” Ji Yong told his best friend. Even though they came here for to film, Ji Yong’s mind felt like they came for a vacation or something peaceful.

“Okay boys! We’re off to walk to the house we will be staying at for the next few days! Let’s go!” their manager told the members in a loud voice. Even just going to the house was different for the guys, it’s been awhile since they were able to walk in public like this. They didn’t have to use a car to hide from the people, but instead they were now walking where everyone can see them and yet no one has walked up to them and asked for their autographs. It was a very different place, even if it was still in South Korea.

It wasn’t long until they made it to the house.

As they came in, they saw an old, short woman sitting outside the house. She slowly got up and had a smile on her face as she saw the crew come in.

“Aigoo! Come in, come in!” the old woman said excitedly as she gestured them in the place.

“Annyeonghaseyo, Halmeoni!” the manager responded as the rest of the members followed him by greeting her as well. They bowed down 90 degree to show their respect for the elder.

“Aigoo, what nice boys we got here,” she said with a smile on her face. The guy noticed that this seemed to be an older woman who seemed to have had a pretty good life. She was full of life and kindness in her eyes as she talked to them, not the typical scornful old people who seemed to not have gotten the life they wanted. The guys instantly came to a liking to this Halmeoni.

“Thank you for letting us stay here at your home,” Young Bae told her as he bowed once again in respect.

“It’s only once in awhile do we get visitors who actually want to stay,” she continued,” of course, I’m more than happy to give you guys a place to stay!”

“Kamsahamnida,” the crew joined in together.

“You guys go in and make yourself at home. You can pick any of the free rooms on the left,” she moved to the side to let the guys go inside the house.

The house was big, not too huge but not too close to small. It was a right size for a big family who weren’t too rich, but had enough money to support themselves. It seemed to be an older house as well, and the whole place definitely gave them a feeling of being in the countryside. It was nice.

Ji Yong went inside and placed his belongings in a room where he, Seung Ri and Young Bae will be staying, while Dae Sung, Seung Hyun and the manager in the other, and the rest of the staff in a different as well.

“This seems like a nice place, huh, Hyung?” Seung Ri asked as he flopped down on the bed that had been luring him in as he came in the room. “I think I’m going to sleep for awhile, before we actually start filming.”

“Better hurry and sleep then, we’re going to start in a couple of hours,” Young Bae responded as he to laid down next to the maknae.

“I’m going for a walk while you guy get your beauty sleep, alright?” Ji Yong said with a playful smile on his face as he took his music player with him and his big, red headphones with him, not the regular small ones, but the ones that goes over your head.

The guys didn’t even responded back as both Seung Ri and Young Bae quickly fell tired and comfortable on the bed not wanting to use their energy to respond back.

“Aish, these boys,” Ji Yong whispered under his breath. He walked outside to the entry door passing by his manager who gave him a questioned look.

“Where are you going?” he asked Ji Yong.

“Out for a walk,” Ji Yong answered short as he placed his head phones on his ear and turning his music player on.

“Be back in an hour!” he heard his manager shout behind him.

“Will do,” he replied. As he made his way out the door he saw the old woman and he bowed down once again. The old woman smiled as always.

As he left, the old woman found something sad in his eyes that she had not seen in awhile. Although he looked alright, the old woman could see the sadness and hurt that his eyes were showing that he tried to hide. Something must have happened to that poor little boy to have crushed his spirits like that.

“Poor boy, he must have gone through so much,” she said quietly as she looked down at the needlework she was doing.

______________________________

The wind was cool against his body, the air smelled clean and fresh of the sea, and the heat of the sun warming his body. He definitely felt different compared to when he learned that they were coming here. He was worn-out, hurt and broken before coming here, but now he felt refreshed and energized.

He was even able to put a smiling face and laugh today, something that has not happened in a really long time. This place called Jukdo, a place he’s never heard of before until now, seemed to be an alright place after all.

He listened to her voice, it was calming and soothing. It was the only voice on this planet that he could never get tired of hearing. It was beautiful and unique, exactly like herself.

“You and I together
It just feels so right”

Ji Yong listened to her first solo single. He, other than Teddy and the other producers, was the first one to listen to her song. She had been so excited about her song, a dream that finally came true for her, and he of course was just as happy as she was. He was proud of her, more than words could ever explain. He had seen her since her trainee years work so hard, and finally her dream had come true.

“Never say break up
No matter what anyone says
I will protect you”

“This was what our love was supposed to be,” he thought.

“Don't let go of my hands
Never say goodbye
Because you're the only one in this world for me”

“What happened, Bom?” he whispered into the air as he continued to listen to her soulful voice.

Before he knew it, he made it to the center place of the island, by the shore. There was a market nearby, and a little store nearby. There were many workers nearby, it seemed like a good load of the population was here at this moment working. People were fishing, selling food at the market, or buying food, people were collecting clams or something to get from the sea.

He decided to go to the market, and surprisingly no one had still come to ask for an autograph, but he did get some strange looks, probably because of his clothes and the fact that he was also a non-resident of the island.

Once he was in the market though, a lot of people came towards him asking if he wanted to buy the things they sold. He was about to, at least buy something just to give the workers some money, but as he checked his pocket for his wallet, it was not there.

“Mianhae, I don’t have money with me,” he apologized to the sellers. “I’ll come back tomorrow and get something.” He bowed down at them and continued to walk and look around.

Even going to the market and strolling around like this, he hasn’t been able to do. He missed it. After some walking around he finally came to a stop outside the market place. He was now listening to her singing “Never Let You Go.”

He took a sit on the wooden bench not noticing his surroundings, but only remembering the time he first heard sing the song. She was so beautiful, he had been blown away by her voice and her beauty. Even now she still managed to make his stomach be in full knots just by the sound of her voice.

He promised her even before they started their relationship that he would wait for her, and he had promised himself that he would wait for her.

His train of thought was suddenly interrupted as he felt a hard gaze from someone in the corners of his eyes. He turned his head to the side to look to his left and was taken aback by two intense eyes staring at him. A little girl maybe at the age of five or four or maybe even younger, with a pink little dress and with green headphones placed in her ears was staring at him so hard like something was growing out of his head.

“Annyeong,” he said to her giving her a little smile.

She didn’t respond, but continued to stare at him. She probably couldn’t hear him?

He decided to wave at her as he took off his head phones, and smiled once again.

The little girl still didn’t respond.

“Hi,” he said once again to her. This time instead of continuing to look at him, she quickly turned her head away from him as if he wasn’t there anymore. Is this little girl okay?

He decided that he wouldn’t say anything anymore and just let it go, either the little girl had mental disabilities or she was rude, but either way he wouldn’t bother with it.

After a few moments though, he felt the same hard gaze from her once again, he turned his head but she quickly turned around.

“She likes to play games, eh?” he thought, as he smiled.

This time he turned back around and didn’t look at her even when he felt her eyes on him again. Instead he kept his head turned and watched her from the corner of his eyes. Then when he knew that she didn’t see it coming, he quickly turned his head and looked at her.

“I win!” he said excitedly like he was a child himself as she finally looked at him once again.

This time she heard a laugh coming from her, he laughed too.

“Annyeong,” he said once again and this time with a wave too.

She finally looked at him with smiling eyes and waved her hand to him. He would have guessed that she was deaf with the way she wasn’t talking, but the fact that she was listening to her iPod told him otherwise.

“What are you listening to?” he asked, feeling weird that he was trying to make a conversation with a little girl.

She didn’t answer him though. Instead she shook her head and pursed her lips together trying to tell him something, but he couldn’t quite get it. Was she telling him that she wasn’t listening to anything?

“Do you want to hear mine?” he asked her instead.

She nodded her head excitedly. He took his headphones off his head and carefully placed them on the child’s ears. He saw her eyes grew big excitedly as she bobbed her head up and down and then looked at him.

“Mommy!” Omo, seems like the child can talk after all.

“Mommy?” he questioned.

“Sounds like my mommy!” Ah, it was Bom’s song of ‘You and I’ once again that he happened to listen to again.

“Your mommy must have a pretty voice,” he responded smiling at the happy little girl.

“Uh-uh!” she nodded happily. “She sings me when I sad, sleepy, and my birfday!” He laughed, it was amazing how Bom’s voice made this girl happy.

“Do you want to have her songs?” he asked her.

She nodded.

“I’ll give you a CD, and you can ask your mommy to download them in to your iPod, okay?” he told her as he ruffled her hair gently.

“Thank you!” she said in a child voice. “My mommy loves her iPod-“

Then suddenly the little girl stopped, and covered her mouth. She had a scared look in her eyes as they began to widen.

“What’s wrong?” he asked worriedly.

She shook her head violently and continued to cover mouth but this time with both her hands. Tightly.

“Is something in your mouth?” Then he saw it coming.

Her young eyes began to water, then she started to sniffle, then suddenly she began to wail in tears. Omo, now what was he supposed to do?

“Does something hurt?” he questioned as he placed his hands gently on her back.

She shook her head.

What was wrong then?

“Do you need to use the restroom?”

She shook her head.

“Aish, this is harder than taking care of Gaho,” he thought to himself. Why had he started making a conversation with a child again?

“Do you want to go to your mommy?” he asked in panic as the child began to cry louder.

“Mommy,” the girl paused in between her sniffles, “told me-“ sniff, “not to-“ sniff, “talk to stwangers!”

Then she cried even louder.

“Aigoo,” he thought, that was why she didn’t talk to him in the beginning.

He rubbed her back gently to calm her crying down. “Don’t worry,” he spoke, “if we go see your mommy and she meets me, then I won’t be a stranger anymore.”

“Weally?” she asked with widened eyes.

He nodded his head smiling at her kindly, “Yup!”

“Yay!” she was now back to her happy self, “she said if I be a good girl and do what she told me, then she buys me something!”

“Really?” he smiled. “I’m sure she will still buy you something, because you’re a good little girl.”

“Want to go see her?” she asked him as she tugged on his arm.

“Sure,” he replied. “Where is your mommy?”

Author's Note: I finally managed to finish the first chapter of Part II! As I told you above the grammar of the dialogue are going to be purposely wrong for a special reason, and that is because it was a little kid talking! I was hoping you guys wouldn't think that my own grammar was bad, lol! Anyways that is the chapter! It feels so weird but yet relieving to finally write in all present! Everytime I was writing I felt like I needed to add something from the past, even though I didn't need to! At least not now...

Also there new Korean Words I used, I'll have them up in the Korean Section up above.

So you guys are my official readers in my private blog! As far as of right now there are about 20 people that are officially reading, but I can only have a limit of 100...

Saying that, I want to say a rule, or rather a request. I made this private blog to keep away from plagiarism, because you cannot copy or highlight in this website. But I ALSO made this because I wanted to know who my readers were. I don't really want anyone to be a silent reader here. You don't have to comment in every chapter, but it would be nice to see you review and comment once in awhile.

When I said I was moving in winglin I didn't even know that I had that MANY silent readers! I was surprised! But I don't want that to happen here, I want my readers to be active. I mean it won't be hard to just write a little something after reading a chapter right? I mean if you really liked the story you would ^_^

And so, if I see that you aren't being active, I might have to delete you off the readers list, because there are only a limited of 100 people who can read anyways so I'd want others to read in place of the person who won't say anything. And else you guys' comments help me write. I love reading them, I take them to heart and improve on the things I did bad, and continue on the things I did great.

So please review.

I also want to be connected with you readers, and with that I will try to respond to yur questions, or just reply to you if I can get the chance. So for the people who have recently commented my past chapters here's the reply.

Isadora: When I saw your comment in winglin and how you read my story and come upon it, it made me smile. I'm glad to see a Brazilian who loves G-BOM! Yay! I hope that my errors in the story aren't too bad and that you can understand them! Thank you so much for reaing! And don't worry your comments are great! I can understand them and your english is very good! About your question on Travis, like what happened to him, I don't really want to flat out tell you, but I did give out an answer in the last chapter, it might not be obvious and you might not see it, but if you don't it will be answered clearly in the later chapters!

misoxcute: Yes, that chapter is quite melodramatic isn't it? ^__^

KanginsFutureGF: Here's PART II! I hope you enjoy!

asiangirl530: I'm glad to hear that my story is quite addicting! YAY! Hehehe, and yes Travis... is someone to hate. Thank you for reading!

Thank you TO ALL MY READERS! And to you guys who decided to keep reading and follow me to my blog! I really love you all for being such dedicated readers!
